A Second Chance For Paris

Paris came to Melissa’s as an owner surrender. Her world was turned upside down, and life had not been going her way. Paris was staying in our shelter and was so terrified that she cowered in the corner and soiled herself anytime she was approached or even looked at.
The shelter staff worked very hard with Paris, giving her space, time, and encouragement. Paris started going home with one of the staff members every night and slowly began to come out of her shell. She started to develop some trust and allowed some physical touch. Paris began to show her sweet and gentle personality, and the shelter team was encouraged by her progress.
One day, a family came to the shelter to meet another dog. Paris saw them and wagged her tail. She immediately went over to the family and sat down, looking them in the eyes. She allowed them to talk to her and pet her. The family fell in love with Paris and adopted her. Paris is now living her best life and is a true testament to the work we do and the lives we save.
